Detective Pikachu Provides Video Content Spark
Detective Pikachu’s arrival in theaters caused a major surge in video content around the film (and its titular character) — and not just for opening weekend. The movie started earning about 5 million views per day across social video platforms — Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter — a month or so out from its release, and just kept growing from, there. Views peaked on Monday, May 13 at over 30 million. It’s not a bad story to go along with Detective Pikachu‘s $103 million international box office haul, which was tops across the industry by a slim $1 million over global phenomenon Avengers: Endgame.
